The Heart of Vashon

Who We Are

A working farm and ranch on Vashon Island, where we raise Western Performance horses from proven bloodlines, provide riding instruction, and grow honest food… all with a patient, hands-on approach.

The Farm

Fresh eggs and seasonal produce, picked and gathered right here. Eggs collected and placed in the front porch cooler... get on the list and you'll know the moment they're ready for you.

The Horses

Cowhorses, reiners, ranch horses and trail horses bred from proven bloodlines - raised in a herd, started with patience, and ready for the show pen or the trail. Meet our mares, foals, and the rescues that are just finding their happy place.

Boarding & Training

Lessons and training built on balanced horsemanship - we earn trust and work on communication. Ride in the arena, do groundwork in the roundpen, or head out on the trails, with full, partial, and self-care boarding available.

Balanced Horsemanship: Feel, Timing, and Clear Expectations

Make the right thing the easy choice, and make it theirs.

Riding since age six, showing Saddlebreds by seventeen, and by nineteen starting young horses and working a Thoroughbred breeding facility and cattle ranch under an emergency vet. Nearly five decades across the show ring, breeding barn, vet practice, and working ranch, distilled into what I call balanced horsemanship.

"Horses have all the time in the world. The only way through is to out-patience them."

"I don't force a horse into anything. I just leave one door open and let them find it."

"Rehomes don't need much to start. No expectations, no pressure. They just need to find their happy place."

"Some horses come here broken. In the herd, natural horse behavior helps them find their way back... long before I ever ask for anything."

Meet the Herd

Broodmares, rehomes, and everything in between… the herd raises, mends, and teaches each other, and every horse here has a job in it.
